Nehera Winter Styling

The coats are back out.
Winter has hit Sydney.

Although the temperatures may not be as brutal as our Northern hemisphere counterparts, nonetheless days still require that extra layer.

After attending an AW season zoom call with the Net-A-Porter team last month, outerwear will become statement pieces in our wardrobes. The buying room have bought heavily into this category, and expressed that ‘one won’t be enough’. The cold snap graces the shores for around 3 months in Australia, so I’ll make the most of layering season whilst it’s around. I’m keeping an optimistic mind set of Christmas back with my family in the UK, sparking excitement for the other coats on my wish list. Physically attending Copenhagen Fashion Week would top off a Northern hemisphere winter. My 2020 attendance gave my outerwear collection the love it deserved.

I have always enjoyed dressing for the colder months, experimenting with layering and textures. I think having a versatile outerwear collection make or break a winter wardrobe. Puffer styles are definitely the ones to watch next winter, but for me a classic tailored piece reinvented will always win me over.

Introducing NEHERA, an independent Slovak brand that in 2014 revived the heritage of the famous 1930’s Czechoslovak brand. In a fashion world obsessed with more, NEHERA uncovers the beauty in less. A mindset we can all adopt. Their winter 2021 collection showcased silhouettes refashioned through the placing of wool or cashmere knitwear over tailoring, or skirts over pants (the latter also a key style for Resort ’22 at Australian Fashion Week).

Now part of the Paris Fashion Week calendar, the visionary brand combines classic tailoring reimagined, and a strong dedication to craftsmanship. You’ll find traditional tailoring techniques juxtaposed with oversized and unique shapes.

You can find NEHERA at their flagship store in Vienna, online via their e-shop, or selected items on FARFETCH. Outerwear starts from 1000 Euros.
